Quadient will showcase its Parcel Pending by Quadient open network initiative, which aims to revolutionize the delivery experience in urban, commercial and residential areas by deploying carrier-agnostic parcel lockers. The open network can effectively manage all types of parcels, distinguishing it from traditional PUDO points, which often lack the desired consistency in security, accessibility and customer experience.
Born out of recognition of pain points within parcel delivery and return processes, it was developed as a scalable, customer-centric alternative to home delivery, with a software platform designed to accommodate a wide range of additional features. To address consumer needs, many locations feature a drop box locker with built-in label printer for seamless returns, contributing to cost savings and sustainability goals. Since its launch last year, the drop box has been well-received, winning Innovation of the Year at the 2023 Parcel and Postal Technology International Awards.
Earlier this year, Quadient introduced the overflow manager app to address surges in in-store orders and returns, offering a strategic addition to in-store parcel locker locations.
Building on successful implementations in Japan, this scalable network ensures open access for carriers, retailers and consumers, consolidating deliveries, returns and pickups in secure lockers, accessible 24/7.
